Dementia support website launched

A TOOL to help patients of dementia and their families and carers is being launched on the Isle of Wight.

THE IW roadmap is a website which offers information about the disease and services, support groups and types of care, and will benefit patients, carers, families, healthcare professionals and those worried about memory problems.

Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) lead for dementia, Dr Michelle Legg said: “The consultation for the Island’s dementia strategy highlighted that there are a lot of great initiatives and services on the Island to support people living with dementia delivered by public, private and voluntary organisations. Residents and healthcare professionals asked for there to be a central place that holds all this information.

“The dementia roadmap has enabled us to collate all the information and groups on one website and we look forward to the content on the site growing as more organisations share their information and activities.”
